Financial Life Management

Our Financial Life Management process is comprised of 5 fundamental steps to ensure that your financial plan is tailored to your specific needs. We will have 4 meetings over 2-3 months as we establish your Financial Life Plan through the EVOKE process. We start with our exploratory conversation and from there, we prioritize your goals, identify potential obstacles, generate a personalized roadmap of financial knowledge, and execute your plan. We continue to meet twice a year to review your Financial Life Plan, discuss your progress, and further refine your plan.

Financial Life Management

Here’s what we’ve learned in over 10 years of client conversations: we used to think we were the heroes, here to save you from your problems. We’re not. You are the hero in your journey. We’re simply your guide. Our job isn’t to hand you a plan we built — it’s to help you discover the one you’ll actually follow, because it was yours from the start.

No capes here.

Our Story

We are passionate about helping align your money with your life, freeing up your time to enjoy what matters most. We know that no two people are the same and therefore no two financial life plans should be either. We take the time to show you where you currently are, help you gain clarity about where you want to go, and lay out the next steps to help you get there as quickly as possible.

Stone Steps provides comprehensive financial life planning and investment management designed to help you plan better and live better.

The Stone Steps Process

We use the EVOKE® Life Planning process — developed by George Kinder over 30 years of working with clients and training advisors worldwide — to guide every client relationship. Four meetings over two to three months. A Financial Life Plan built around what you actually want. And twice a year after that, we sit down together to see how life has changed and what the plan needs to do next.

Explore

We start with a 30,000-foot view of your financial life and a deeper conversation: what does a great life look like for you? We’ll do a Financial Check-Up to make sure nothing urgent is falling through the cracks, and introduce you to your Stone Steps dashboard.

Vision

We explore your answers to the Three Questions — a deceptively simple tool for getting past the responsible answer to the real one. This is where we learn what a great life actually looks like for you, not just what you think you should want.

Obstacles

We come back to your vision of a great life and look honestly at what might get in the way — financial, practical, and personal. We also explore your Ideal Day, Week, and Year to understand how close or far you are from the life you’re describing.

Knowledge

We present your initial Financial Life Plan — covering investments, tax planning, cash flow, net worth, insurance, equity compensation, employee benefits, estate planning, and more. This is where the vision and the numbers meet.

Execute

With your Financial Life Plan in place, the real work begins. We prioritize the most important actions, schedule the rest, and monitor your plan so we can adapt as life evolves. We also manage your investments as part of the ongoing relationship.

 How it works

 15-minute call

A quick call to make sure we’re the right type of planner for what you’re looking for. No pressure — just a chance to confirm it makes sense to go further.

Exploration

You (and your partner) meet with us to discuss what’s essential for both of you to live a great life. We help you see how we’ll work together.

Build your Financial Life Plan

A plan built around your life and your goals — not a template. We meet twice a year after that to review progress and refine as life changes.
